A Field Guide to Documenting a Test Result

A clear submission takes only a few extra minutes and makes the result far more useful to other people.

Choose a suitable surface

Select an outdoor surface and note its surrounding environment. Avoid locations that would reveal a private home address unless you are comfortable with the public map position.

Take a useful photograph

Use diffuse daylight, keep the tube in focus and avoid strong colored light. The photograph should show the final color after the complete reaction time.

Add a short factual note

Describe relevant conditions such as moisture, recent cleaning or unusual residue. Keep the description factual and avoid claims that go beyond the visual test result.
